Bart Praet is a Belgian folk musician and composer recognized for his expertise in traditional instruments such as the bagpipes and flutes. His music reflects a rich tapestry of influences, blending folk traditions with elements of jazz, classical, and world music.


He is a founding member of the folk band Elanor, which he formed alongside musicians like Bert Leemans (accordion), Thomas Hoste (hurdy-gurdy), Kuni Quintens (guitar), and Jelle Van Cleemputte (bass). The group’s work combines traditional melodies with modern arrangements and original compositions, leading to the release of a demo and their first full album in 2016.


Beyond Elanor, Bart Praet also develops solo projects and collaborations. His releases often explore the interplay between traditional music and his own compositions, highlighting his deep engagement with European folk traditions as well as his personal musical voice.
